Home remedy for cough

In one cup of warm milk, add 2 - 3 strands of saffron(kesar) and drink twice a day.Prepare a tea. Add aniseed and holy basil to it. Drink this tea at least twice a day to get relief from relief from cough.


Boil water with salt and once its warm gargle in mouth for a minute. Repeat the process for 3 to 4 times a day. This will be of great help.

Spicy pepper and cumin seeds soup will reduce cough and will give a good relief.
Take 1-2 gm each of black pepper, long pepper, and dry ginger. Make a mixture of these ingredients and have it along with honey for 2-3 days.

Intake 10 to 15 tulsi leaves/mint leaves in raw to have a clear germfree throat.

Turmeric is a very good natural medicine for  cold and cough.

 Tulsi is an important constituent of many Ayurvedic cough syrups and expectorants. It helps to mobilize mucus in bronchitis and asthma. Chewing tulsi leaves relieves cold and flu.

Water boiled with basil leaves can be taken as drink in case of sore throat. This water can also be used as a gargle.

For children above 3 years.

Boil white onion. Drain the juice by squeezing the onion. Take 1 teaspoon of onion juice and add equal amounts of honey to it. Drink this potion twice a day. This can be given to children even with cough & fever.

Take 1 cup of water and add 4-5 leaves of tulsi; a small piece of ginger and 1 teaspoon of jaggery. Boil this mixture over slow heat till the quantity becomes half a cup. Drink this at least 2 times in a day. This can be given to children with cold.

Put half a tea spoon of dried ginger powder in 1 glass of water. Boil the water till it becomes half a glass in measure. Drain the water and drink that water 2 teaspoon twice a day.
